"The good, the bad, and the ugly" of the teaching profession

Nine Dangerous Things you Learned in School

  1. I can identify with point 5 "There is a very clear, single path to success". When I told my friends that I plan to do an apprenticeship instead of going to university, they were really astound and told me I will 'wast' my a-levels. But what is wrong in doing what I'm interested in instead of doing what society says I should do?
I don't regret the desicion, I learned a lot during my apprenticship that helps me now in my life. But after a while I decided to go to university, because the job as an advertisment assistent didn't fulfil me.
I think, my way shows that there is not one single path to success, there are a lot. Sometimes you need to go back and choose a different path or sometimes you have a winding road to go, but you can have success no matter which path you choose.
